Here I have listed some popular Lock & Lock sizes. I list volume and outside dimensions, as well as the original Heritage Mint item number and the simplified item name & number I use.
#1 Rectangle (Xsmall)
Measures: 3.5" x 4.3" x 1.9" tall
Volume: 6oz (0.8 cup)

This container is my personal favorite. It holds logbooks made with half sized index cards perfectly. It is VERY small & easy to hide. Too small to have room for Hitch Hikers. Very Stealthy.
#2 Rectangle (small)
Measures: 4."x 5.4" x 2.3" tall
Volume: 11oz (1.3 cup)

Larger larger than the Xsmall rectangle but still small and very low profile.
NOTE:Sometimes this size is only available with 2 divider trays inside.
#3 Rectangle (sm. DEEP)

Deeper & slightly larger than the small rectangle. Can accomodate stamps mounted on thick wooden blocks & possibly have room for small Hitch Hikers.
#4 Rectangle (Medium)
Measures: 4.3" x 5.9" x 1.8" tall
Volume: 11oz (1.5 cup)

Larger footprint than those above. Very good size and low profile.
NOTE:Sometimes this size is only available with 2 divider trays inside.
#5 Rectangle (Larger Flat)
Measures: 5" x 7" x 2.1" tall
Volume: 2.3 cups

Flat rectangle with a larger "footprint" than those above.
Big enough for 4x6 sketch books but still shallow enough to hide fairly easy and in crevices or narrow spaces. Room for most hitch hikers.

Small "sandwich" square. Flat & easy to hide. Slightly smaller than the square available in the 3 piece Lunch or Back to School sets.
